Golf GTI Cabriolet: The key component of it is the 2.0-litre engine with 210 PS fitted for the first time in the Cabriolet. It is available with two engine/gearbox versions: as a manual gearbox or with the fast-changing dual-clutch gearbox (DSG), each with 6 speeds. A standard feature for all customers who get to indulge in the sporty driving performance of the Golf GTI Cabriolet is the XDS electronic differential lock on the front axle, which ensures perfect traction, enhanced agility and the utmost driving stability. This hatch is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels of the type ‘Denver’ (18-inch wheels of the type ‘Detroit’ are optionally available) in addition to a new diffuser with chrome tailpipes.

Polo WRC Street: From motor racing to the street is the motto of the Polo WRC Street concept car. At Wörthersee, Volkswagen will be presenting for the first time a preview of an extremely sporty small series, which is due to be launched in late 2013. This model cuts an impressive figure with its rear spoiler, diffuser, sports suspension and an inscription with R-WRC logos. A powerful 220 PS 2.0-litre TSI engine produces motorsport-like performance.

Polo R-WRC: With the newly developed Polo R WRC, Volkswagen Motorsport is presenting a road-going prototype for the FIA World Rally Championship. At the heart of this racing version beats a 1.6-litre TSI engine with approx. 300 PS power output, which ensures impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

GTI Black Dynamic: Black as the night, with a red/black colour concept and lowered sports suspension, the ‘GTI Black Dynamic’ will be making an appearance at Wörthersee. Since October last year, nine Volkswagen apprentices – four young women and five young men – have been working on their ‘Apprentice Golf GTI 2012′. Their objective: vehicle concept design, styling, engine version and numerous details are meant to convey their interpretation of a classic sports car. Elegant and simple but with numerous stylish details, the ‘Black Dynamic’ is a real headturner. It also features a 1,800 Watt sound system with nine loudspeakers, which takes up the entire boot space. This year’s ‘Golf GTI Black Dynamic’ is the fifth vehicle project to make its debut amongst the petrol heads in Austria.

Golf GTI ‘White Concept’: The attractive design study Golf GTI ‘White Concept’ is characterised by its remarkable ‘Oryx White matt’ paintwork. The vehicle interior affords an exciting black/red contrast. In addition to the sports seats in Nappa leather, red contrasting stitching adorns numerous details such as the steering wheel, handbrake lever and door armrests. A door sill trim – with the GTI logo and honeycomb pattern in White Matt and Aluminium – go to complete the unique appearance of the Golf GTI ‘Concept White’.

An eye-catching new feature of the newly styled Ferrari front is the striking skirt with the optimised air intakes for improved ventilation of the front radiator. Newly designed side sills have been added. These steady the air flow between the axles and feed additional cooling air into the engine compartment through integrated routing channels. The diffuser built into the new rear skirt stabilises the back at high speeds and creates downforce together with the serial rear wing on the rear axle. Thanks to 590 hp / 434 kW and 560 Nm the eight-cylinder accelerates from zero to one hundred (km/h) in a breathtaking 3.2 seconds. The top speed is 330 km/h which is also higher than the base vehicle.

Now in its third year, Maserati’s single-make series has made a number of big changes for 2012, the biggest of which have been to the race calendar. Now, the European boundaries have been broken with events programmed for the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, and the F1 circuit in Shanghai, China.

The 2012 season officially gets underway with this weekend’s tests at Vallelunga to kick off a series won by David Baldi last year. The two test days will see around forty drivers from twelve countries trying out the new car. There will be drivers from Italy, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, England, Germany, Monaco, San Marino, Hungary and the United Arab Emirates taking part.

As things stand, there are 20 crews enrolled, including three teams, AF Corse, Swiss Team and Konvex Racing, which battled it out for the title last year. There are also lots of drivers who have stayed loyal to the Maserati series, like Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, who last year scooped the Team title along with Alessandro Chionna, and Renaud Kuppens (who has competed in the FIA GT). Among the newcomers are Giorgio Sernagiotto/Giuseppe Fascicolo (ex-Ferrari Challenge), Riccardo Ragazzi/Alan Simoni (ex-Italian GT), Andrea Dromedari/Max Pigoli (ex-Superstars International), Tiziano Cappelletti (Italian GT4 champion).

The first round in the series is scheduled for 20 May at Jarama, Spain. It is then on to Portimao, Portugal, on 3 June, Imola (Italy) on 24 June, and Paul Ricard (France) on 22 July. Then come the two events that wrap up the season: in North America, on 23 September, and Asia on 4 November.

The GranTurismo MC’s new set up, featuring an aerodynamic bodykit and reduced weight, will make it more competitive. During test sessions held during the winter break, the car showed that its performance was much better as it lapped at an average of 2.5 seconds quicker than the 2011 version. The 2012 races are also new, with two formats to be run: the standard 40 minute event will be run for three rounds with the other three rounds made up of endurance races of two 30 minute and one 50 minute event. The 50 minute races will feature a compulsory pit stop and driver change for cars crewed by two drivers.

The regulations have also been tweaked: as well as the usual division between Trofeo and Team standings, this year will see the introduction of an Absolute classification. All the drivers can compete for a place in these new standings with the winning team or driver being crowned the 2012 Maserati Trofeo MC World Series champion.

All the cars that appear in the Trofeo are made track-ready by a dedicated team of technicians to ensure that the drivers race on a level playing field. Private teams can take part with cars set up in line with 2010, 2011 or 2012 spec. However, private cars have to meet homologation criteria and Maserati’s technical requirements. The data analysis session with Maserati engineers has also been confirmed.

The cost of competing in the Trofeo series is €110.000, plus the race entry and test fees. €70.000 (excluding fees) ensures participation in the four European stages. For private teams fielding their own cars, the cost is €35.000 (excluding fees) for the entire championship and €25.000 (excluding fees) for the European legs only.

Maserati’s track programme will also see an indirect competition with a Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo GT3 from Swiss Team. The Swiss squad’s GT3 will make its first track outing at Jarama in the Spanish GT and will then go on to appear in the GT Open. Incidentally, Swiss Team contributed to developing the Trofeo 2012′s kit.

Winter saw the first ever Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK. The Maserati single-make series was held exclusively in the Middle East over six gripping rounds. Races took place on the F1 tracks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Bahrain with Lebanese driver Joe Ghanem eventually coming out on top.

The list of partners and official suppliers to the 2012 Maserati Trofeo MC World Series includes the confirmation of Pirelli and Sparco and the entry of new companies like Bower & Wilkins, Maserati Time, Kuehne + Nagel, Audes, Performance 1 and Bontour.

The Audi Q3 red track themed vehicle represents a new variation on the SUV concept. It has been designed for young, sporty people. The Audi Q3 red track is a sporty and robust compact SUV offering many practical attributes, an elegant appearance and individual design highlights.

The vehicle is painted in the color developed specially for it – Energy Red, with the red paint containing golden pearlescent particles. Its add-on body parts are in matt gray quartz-based paint, and underline the vehicle’s robust and rugged appearance. The high-gloss package, a characteristic feature of the model line, enhances the area around the windows with eye-catching elements in aluminum and high-gloss black.

Vertical struts made from aluminum are integrated in the single-frame grille. They extend across the full height of the grille. In the area of the horizontal panel, which carries the license plate on series-built vehicles, they are pulled outwards to striking effect. The struts present the two-tone theme which the Audi designers have developed for the Q3 red track. Their side edges are painted in a matt quartz-based paint, while the slim front faces have a high-gloss finish.

In the headlights, the zones in the lower area of the light-guide elements, which generate the daytime running lights, are painted in the body color.

In the interior of the Audi Q3 red track, three colors offer an ambience of sophistication and sporty elegance – black, gray and red. The headlining is made from titanium gray Alcantara; large parts of the interior, including the carpet, are black. The black, ribbed floor mats are edged with narrow strips of red Velvet leather.

An innovative leather/fabric material is used for the upholstery – thin strips of leather just a few tenths of a millimeter wide are interwoven with yarn. The upholstery features piping with double seams; like the contrasting stitching, the piping is red. Small sections of the upholstery are made from red Velvet leather – a hardwearing material that looks similar to nubuck leather at first glance, but in fact has a finer structure. The segments integrated in the door trims are also in red Velvet leather, trimmed in steel gray Fine Nappa leather.

Aluminum takes center stage in the instrument cluster. The most striking elements are the metal dials around the speedometer and rev counter. They were made using a rotary-grinding process. Metal is also used on their rings and around the edges of the control lights. Horizontal bars and small fins give the dials and needle centers a sporty, three-dimensional look.

The leather steering wheel features red contrasting stitching and aluminum trim. Behind it are two large shift paddles for manually controlling the seven-speed S tronic. The footrest and the pedals have thin pads made from rubber. Slits offer a glimpse of the stainless steel beneath the pads.

The soft keys for the MMI navigation plus system are made from aluminum, while the control terminal benefits visually from narrow strips of the same material. The monitor, which can be folded out manually, features trim that matches the surface of the instrument panel. The system includes an animation showing the longitudinal and latitudinal tilt angle of the Audi Q3 red track. In regions that are not included in the map data, the MMI navigation plus system logs the GPS coordinates of the route – for assistance during the return journey.

The interior of the Audi Q3 red track includes two practical devices for winter sports fans. The side wall of the luggage compartment houses a charging station. It can be used for storing flashlights and charging them inductively at the same time. The same technology is used for the Thermos canister. It is located in the cup holder between the front seats and is able to chill or warm drinks. Both devices have LEDs that show the current charge level. One attractive extra is that, in addition to LED lighting, the flashlights incorporate an infra-red heating element that can be used for warming your hands or a pair of ski boots.

Another intelligent solution in the themed vehicle is the luggage compartment mat, which has integrated heated seat cushions. The mat can be folded out and laid over the loading lip. This protects the edge of the luggage compartment while the vehicle is being loaded or unloaded, and also provides a warm area to sit on when putting on or taking off your ski boots. Small LED spotlights on the inside of the tailgate provide light.

The Audi Q3 red track features a 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI engine with direct injection and turbocharging that generates an output of 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of torque from a displacement of 2,480 cc.

The engine’s five cylinders are consecutively numbered; red wrinkled-finish paint has been applied to the cylinder head cover. A panel made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) partially covers the engine, and the air filter is also protected against dirt. There is a decorative trim made from plastic around the engine compartment.

The power of the turbocharged five-cylinder unit is transferred to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system via a seven-speed S tronic transmission. The Audi Q3 red track accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 5.4 seconds and continues to a top speed of 263 km/h (163.42 mph).

Engineers worked to naturally amplify the specific lower range of engine frequencies found between 200 and 450 Hz that are most pleasing to performance enthusiasts through the use of a composite “paddle” that vibrates with intake air pulses.

While the sound tube concept has been used on Mustang in the past, the sound symposer used in Focus ST is unique because of its electronically controlled valve that opens and closes based on driver inputs – engine speed, accelerator pedal position and gear selection. In lower gears, the valve is mapped more aggressively, while in higher gears the effect is dialed back to enable quieter cruising. This isn’t possible with conventional, passive sound tubes. Part of the reason Ford made these changes is that on Focus ST, for the first time, the symposer is attached directly to the intake manifold (as opposed to between the manifold and air intake).

The secret to getting this right was developing the perfect paddle to naturally amplify the ST’s great engine sound. Ford engineers tested several different paddles. Eventually, the supplier developed a paddle with the correct stiffness that yielded the best acoustic response and ultimately, the best “flutter” and low-end frequency sound.

Among the more visible options will be the Tangerine Scream metallic color that will be offered exclusively on Focus ST as well as race-inspired Recaro seats with matching color accents.

The motorcycle can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h and its weight is 177 kg. The frame is aluminum, the headlights are asymmetric, the breaks – Brembo with 320 mm disks.

It took 6 months for three Vilner specialists to develop the design, create the model, work out the details, finish and test their handmade work for the creation of Predator. 17 new details were made – 9 of carbon and 8 chromium-plated.

The bike length is 25 cm shorter. It was made single-seated instead of two-seated – with a wider and fully changed seat. The headlight was remade – bi-xenon with red LED lights. The front blinkers were taken from a BMW Z4 and built in the carbon. PREDATOR’s rear is with joined blinkers, rear-lights and stop lamp. The rear tyre is wider. The other grey elements of the mass-produced type are colored in black.

Due to the lightness of carbon details, although upgraded, the bike increased its weight with only 6.5 kg. The exhaust pipe is handmade by BG partner company. The predator now has a furious roar – low and rotund, withering!
