The 2012 Volvo S60 has become the second vehicle to earn perfect scores in each evaluation in NHTSA crash testing, according to newly posted safety ratings on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website.
The S60 earned five stars for protection of the driver and front passenger in a 35-mph frontal crash test, for protection of the driver and rear passenger in a 38.5-mph side-impact crash test, and for protecting the driver in a 20-mph side-impact test that simulates sliding into a pole or tree.
